The CIBSE Technical Symposium 2024 will be held on 11-12 April at the Welsh School of Architecture, Cardiff University.

Call for Abstracts

The CIBSE Symposium Theme is Fit for 2050 - Delivering buildings and defining performance for a net zero built environment and will present a range of peer reviewed papers and presentations outlining the latest developments in practice, technology and policy, showing how building services engineers can design and deliver safer, more healthy and sustainable buildings in practice. We are seeking a particular focus on solutions to the challenge of redefining building performance in the light of social, environmental and digital change.

The Symposium takes place over two days and will feature a mix of peer reviewed presentations and posters. We seek to bring together practitioners and researchers to consider the latest thinking in our sector and to hear from those who are applying and researching the latest thinking in building services engineering.

The Symposium will be held at the Welsh School of Architecture located in the city of Cardiff. The distinctiveness of this venue lies in its longstanding focus on sustainability and the well-being of present and future generations.

Get Involved – submit an abstract

Getting involved in the Symposium as a presenter is simple – we ask you to submit a short abstract, or summary, of what you are offering to present. This could be a research paper or poster, a technical review of a topic relevant to the theme, a case study showing practical experience with a technology or process or an opinion based paper. It can be based on recent or current project work, research or application, or it could examine actual or potential impacts of new technologies, processes or policies on the built environment.
