Energy strategy reports are often required for planning permissions to demonstrate environmental credentials. Still, Energy strategy reports are increasingly being used as the starting point for organisations or companies to understand their Carbon Footprint. This practical course aims to help the delegate understand how an Energy strategy report can be utilised in planning and as a tool to identify & reduce their building or estates' carbon footprint. 

Learning Outcomes

At the successful completion of this course, the delegate will be able to: 

  • Be able to advise clients on the requirements and potential benefits of incorporating energy efficiency measures and LZC technologies into new or existing buildings 
  • Have sufficient understanding to discuss the direction of future regulations and planning policy and the implications for projects 
  • Have a sufficient understanding of the available measures and technologies and the key considerations and implications of each to advise clients and design teams 
  • Be able to undertake an energy study and understand the appropriate calculation methodologies, benchmarks and assumptions to apply  
  • Be able to prepare a compliant energy strategy report
