This training covers the electrical basics, whether you are an engineer or facilities manager or mechanical engineer, who want a good grounding and understanding of electrical engineering.   • Methods of protection and electrical safety to people
  • Overview of short circuits, earth faults & selectivity between devices.
     Overview of the Key Electricity at Work Regulations and the IEE Wiring Regulations - BS 7671
Session 2
  • Generators & Uninterruptible Supplies
  • Use of generators & uninterruptible power supply systems (UPS)
Session 3
  • Different types of cabling for Sub-Main Distribution, Lighting, Small Power and Fire Alarm systems
  • Lighting principles and different types
  • Emergency lighting principles
  • Simple lighting circuits and wiring diagrams
  • Fire Alarm Principles
Session 4
  • Simple power circuits and wiring diagrams
  • Ring mains and radial circuits, their uses & application
  • Fuses & Circuit Breakers
  • What influences the sizing of conductors to ensure safety and reliability
  • Simple cable sizing.
  • Inspection and Testing (I&T)
