"Grenfell Tower" - Expert Analysis - Date & Time: 13 February 2019, 18:30 - 20:30 Venue: Atkins, Victoria, London
This was a London event for engineers, architects and construction professionals involved in the Construction industry.
Martin Weller, Associate Director at Atkins and Dr Hywel Davies, Technical Director at CIBSE gave an informative and insightful Technical Presentation on the Grenfell Tower Fire at the new Victoria, London offices of Atkins. Under discussion was:
- the cause of the fire
- products used in the refurbishment
- construction shortfalls
- Building Regulations
The event was attended by over 80 industry professionals and was keenly received.

"Made in Britain" - Light Fittings! - Date & Time: 3 October 2018, 18:00 - 20:30 Venue: Designplan Lighting Limited, Sutton, Surrey
This event was organised by the Society of Light and Lighting and the HCSW Committee. A factory to demonstrate UK manufacturing followed by a CPD session. Refreshments were provided which included a sample of local British ales!

Ant Wilson MBE, spoke at a lively event attended by over 80 CIBSE members and their guests. Ant covered a variety of very relevant topics that included:-
- Energy and environmental policies in the UK
- Innovation within Building Services
- Client’s requirements and getting the design criteria right
Ant’s talk invoked almost 60 minutes of Questions and Answers from the floor.
