2024 Call for Papers

Fit for 2050 - Delivering buildings and defining performance for a net zero built environment.

Submit your abstract

The fourteenth annual CIBSE Technical Symposium encourages participation by both young and experienced industry practitioners, researchers and building users to share experiences and develop networks. We invite 250 word abstracts for papers and presentations based on recent or current project work, research or application, as well as those that examine actual or potential impacts of our work on the built environment.

Submissions for Abstracts will be accepted until 17:00 BST on Monday 11 September.

The Symposium Steering Committee will then review the proposals and we will invite successful proposers to prepare full papers for early December 2023.

All papers are peer reviewed and reviewers will provide feedback to authors, who are asked to consider the reviews and amend their paper accordingly. Deadline for final paper submission is early February 2024.

SUBMIT YOUR POSTER

Posters provide the opportunity to summarise information of research, application or case-study concisely and share your work and generate discussion. This will be presented in a dedicated session together with other posters for delegates to visit. A poster can be accompanied by a written paper and there are optional opportunities to provide a four-minute compendiary ‘poster pitch’ presentation (see below) to all delegates in a plenary session

Accepted papers, reviews, case studies and opinions will normally be delivered as part of a symposium session with a presentation of approximately 18 minutes (plus questions and answers)

The Compendiary ‘Poster Pitch’ is a limited availability option to present a four-minute fast-track highlights presentation with limited slides to a plenary session of all delegates. This is available to those who have been commissioned to produce a poster.
