Building Services Commissioning Manager
Your new company A locally owned Belfast consultancy who specialise in providing independent Building Services Commissioning Management Services to the Construction & Building Services industry are currently seeking a Building Services Commissioning Manager to join their team. With over 25 years' management experience they offer a complete commissioning & handover service including the management of all Building Services Commissioning activities for Main & Building Services Contractors throughout the United Kingdom in sectors such as Office Accommodation, Nuclear Research Facilities, Specialist Waste Centres, Data Management Centres, Production Factories and many more. Your new role The successful candidate will be required to provide support to the Operations team on several concurrent medium-large contracts based in UK & Ireland. The position is full-time permanent and will be based in Belfast. This role is open to both junior or senior level Mechanical / Electrical Commissioning Engineers/Managers or for Mechanical / Electrical Contracts Managers who are seeking to develop into the field of Commissioning Management. Some of the general duties of the Building Services Commissioning Manager include: Assessing design drawings and specifications to complete commission-ability reviews Developing commissioning programmes and providing regular updates on progress Reviewing and assisting contractors/subcontractors in the development of all project-related QA/QC documentation, providing technical input to the formal change control processes Reviewing commissioning RAMS prior to commissioning activities commencing Managing commissioning procedures providing regular reports on progress as required Reviewing and validating commissioning data against design parameters implementing any mitigation or recovery plans Holding commissioning meetings with subcontractors, main contractors, and clients Creating and managing Handover commissioning checklists Ensuring that all plant/systems have been fully commissioned/inspected in line with the contract specifications Ensuring that commissioning defects are communicated properly and closed out Reviewing all appropriate commissioning handover documentation prior to handover Coordinating end-user witnessing and training Commenting on O&M manuals produced by the contractor What you'll need to succeed Have detailed technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical and/or building control systems. Hold recognised qualifications or relevant experience in Mechanical/Electrical Building Services Engineering Previous experience working in a Building Services Commissioning role Excellent IT, planning, and reporting skills are essential. The ability to review design drawings, specifications and technical submittals in order to produce a commission-ability reviews, together with client liaison. Strong use of Microsoft suite of software. Ability to develop good, positive relationships with all parties involved in the commissioning delivery process. Previous management experience is desirable but not essential. Senior Mechanical Design Engineer required for expanding Consultancy in Kent My client was established in 1987 and is now a well-established and highly successful Building Services Consultancy, employing in excess of 20 staff. The Consultancy has gained significant and valuable project experience across most work sectors. However, it is within the healthcare, laboratory and education sectors, in particular, that they have achieved its reputation for consistently delivering a quality service. This fact is borne out by the impressive portfolio of clients and projects, a major proportion of which is repeat business and term agreements.
